Overview
Successful industrial and manufacturing companies recognize that first-line supervisors are the keys to encouraging and establishing high levels of productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Supervisory Skills Evaluation Program (SSEP) is a video-based, computer-scored simulation that enables you to hire and develop highly effective first-line supervisors within a manufacturing environment. SSEP shows a variety of on-the-job situations similar to those faced by supervisors on a typical day. As participants observe the different situations, they answer questions regarding how they would deal with each situation if they were actually on the job. Through this process, participants have the opportunity to demonstrate job-related skills and abilities. This skills-based approach is the most accurate and reliable predictor of future job performance. In addition, the process helps participants build realistic expectations about the target job.
Key Benefits
- Accurately predicts future job performance
- Reduces supervisor and employee turnover
- Improves overall performance
- Targets individual and group training needs
- Ideal for individual or group administration
- Consistent, fair, and legally defensible
Skills Measured
SSEP measures five critical skills required for high levels of performance in the first-line supervisor position. These skills are:
- Information Gathering and Communication
- Analyzing and Understanding Information
- Problem Solving
- Scheduling and Prioritizing
- Supervising and Managing People
Administration
SSEP uses video technology to alleviate
many of the administrative duties normally associated
with testing. The simulation simplifies the administrative
process by leading participants through each step
of the testing process, including a job preview, instructions,
practice opportunity, and assessment period. The simulation
takes an hour and 15 minutes to complete. Following
the simulation, responses are computer scored onsite,
giving you immediate access to assessment results.
These results provide a prediction of each participant's
potential for success as well as valuable feedback
on skill strengths and developmental needs. Employment
Technologies' exclusive Career Prescription® (CareeRx®) feature also lets you
generate an objective, personalized performance plan
for each participant based upon his or her specific
assessment results.
